                               RESOLUTION NO. 19127
                  
                  
                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
                   FINANCE OFFICER TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST,
                   RESPECTIVELY, AN AGREEMENT WITH HAMILTON
                   COUNTY FOR COST SHARING WITH RESPECT TO THE
                   PARKING GARAGE FOR THE HAMILTON COUNTY/CITY
                   OF CHATTANOOGA COURTS/JAIL COMPLEX IN THE
                   PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF ONE MILLION TWO HUNDRED
                   THOUSAND AND NO/100 ($1,200,000.00) DOLLARS.
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 WHEREAS, Hamilton County is constructing a parking
       facility for the Hamilton County/City of Chattanooga Courts/Jail
       Complex; and
       	    	 WHEREAS, the construction cost is being financed through
       the Hamilton County General Obligation Bond Issue of 1991; and
       	    	 WHEREAS, the City of Chattanooga shall jointly use the
       parking garage in conjunction with the operation of two City 
court
       rooms and clerk offices; and
       	    	 WHEREAS, the city shall be responsible for a pro rata
       sharing in the maintenance and operation costs of the garage and
       shall also share in any net revenues with respect thereto;
       	    	 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
       THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Mayor and City
       Finance Officer be and are hereby authorized to execute and
       attest, respectively, an agreement with Hamilton County 
concerning
       financial participation in the construction of the parking garage 

       for the Hamilton County/City of Chattanooga Courts/Jail Complex 
in
       the principal amount of $1,200,000.00 and for the operation and
       maintenance thereof.
